I would really like a ML again.. Might even make me more active in discussions again. The discourse ML feature is mediocre at best :/ Also GitHub mails are kinda sucky.. You can't properly reply to review commentsโฆ

The webinterface still hangs for >10s multiple times. Definitely contributed to my lack of contributions in the past months..

there was somebody in #nixos earlier who unprompted brought up desire for an ML
<qyliss>
interesting
<qyliss>
i wouldn't have expected there to be anybody else, really

andi-: What's the worst part about the Discourse mails? I was interested in it specifically because of its two faces as both webapp and mails.

hyperfekt: they throw markdown at me and broken links/images, The threading you are usually used to from MLs doesn't really show in the UI but somewhat exist. I have no idea how to make quotes look properly in replies.
<andi->
Attachments are missing as well. Sometimes even thos expanded URLs and I wonder what a thread is about until I see the markdown.

I wonder if it's a good idea to buy used drives for mission critical storage. With proper redundancy via ZFS, mdraid, etc, it seems better for your drive failures to be sporadic rather than all at once, and it seems more likely for new drives purchased at the same time to fail all at once.

hyperfekt: I think at some point there was even a thread about things broken in Discourse
<MichaelRaskin>
(but about smaller things with a hope to fix)
<MichaelRaskin>
But yeah, it is clear that Discourse explicitly doesn't care about being a good mailing list (or a good threaded forum, for that matter)

I mostly had a script working that would clean up discourse markdown using their own code.

Anyone ever tried kwin-tiling on NixOS? I'm getting really fed up with all the issues I'm having with my desktop environment, and using plasma would probably solve all of it. But I really don't want to lose tiling. Wondering if kwin-tiling is a good experience.

`zfs diff` is so useful. I'm experimenting with `kwin-tiling` in a VM now, and my main concern is whether I can set it up declaratively in my NixOS config. With `zfs diff`, I can do it imperatively and then just check what changed in the file system to see how to automate it.
<Church->
Nifty. I really need to get zfs set up with my nuc

Guess once I get my car fixed I'll get some kind of usb jbod shelf I can slot some drives in

anyone with experience with the firefox debugger? It can't be the intended behavior that you can't capture composite keydowns like ? when using breakpoints

(ie. is my firefox f*cked up somehow?)
