<eyJhb> Soo... I finally got around to cleaning out my /tmp, but apparantly, I had a demo in /tmp, that got nuked that I had to use for the student interns the day after my cleanup
<eyJhb> Why do I actually put files into /tmp...
<__monty__> Kinda surprised apple ties TrustStore updates to system updates so closely. My truststore on High Sierra's from 2018-04 and some of the root certs are set to expire as soon as 2020, so I'm already vulnerable to root certs apple has since retracted and I'll slowly start losing the ability to verify certs starting in a couple months...
<xd1le> wtf how have i not seen direnv and lorri before
<xd1le> good shit
<__monty__> Yes, it's delightful : )
<xd1le> holy shit emacs integration
<xd1le> this is amazing

<__monty__> You're welcome ; )
<xd1le> oh you develop it?! ty!
<xd1le> xd
<__monty__> No no no. I figured you spotted it in my SSL cert discussion?
<__monty__> gchristensen's one of the devs though.
<xd1le> oh indeed i did ^_^
<xd1le> lol so excited i forgot where i saw it
<eyJhb> So my battery have had 1 minut of power left, for the passt 30 minutes
<eyJhb> It has now 2 min left, and I have not connected any power, or changed any brightness/settings :p
<__monty__> o.O The first positive output perpetuum mobile!
<__monty__> infinisil: I'd love to hear why you don't like haskell.nix setting config btw. Looks like they want to make the current setup 1.0 soon.
<eyJhb> Lenovo just knows how to make computers __monty__ ! :D

<tilpner> Is your boot process boring? Do you ever wonder what an exciting boot ritual would look like?
<samueldr> hm?
fuzen has quit [Quit: ZNC - https://znc.in]
<tilpner> Look no further than booting encrypted zfs on nvme with stage1 ssh, and forgetting to put nvme modules into initrd
<sphalerite> lol
<tilpner> Also involves pkill
fuzen has joined #nixos-chat
<samueldr> oh, fun!
<tilpner> I created a tar with nvme kernel modules, sent it over ssh (no scp or rsync in stage1), and insmoded around
<tilpner> Only to find out what happens if there are two zfs pools with the same name
<ajs124> tilpner: did you dd your zpool?
<tilpner> (I'm still not sure, but it imported the wrong one)
<tilpner> ajs124: No, but now that everything boots again, I made sure to wipefs the entire drive
<ajs124> tilpner: if you feel like porting stage1 to systemd, there's this project called sd-zfs which is looking for a maintainer.
<das_j> hello, I'm the current maintainer
<tilpner> That's not... it wasn't stage1s fault, I should have just put "nvme" into boot.initrd.availableKernelModules
<tilpner> Huh, that "boot snapshots" part sounds similar to what Canonical is doing

<gchristensen> is it common for homes in the EU to have these showers where the drain is just in the floor and a glass partition, and there is no lip you have to step over?
<__monty__> Fairly, it's the more expensive option.
<__monty__> Very popular with older people because of obvious reasons.
<gchristensen> hmm cool
<__monty__> I'd expect it to be a thing in the US too though.
<gchristensen> not so common

<infinisil> ,tell __monty__ I think the haskell.nix config thing is a bad idea because you can't pass your own config and overlays like normal anymore (if at all)
<{^_^}> infinisil: I'll pass that on to __monty__
<infinisil> For context, in haskell.nix they apparently want you to import nixpkgs like this: import <nixpkgs> (import (builtins.fetchTarball https://github.com/input-output-hk/haskell.nix/archive/master.tar.gz))
