<thoughtpolice> Hmmm, does anyone have any kind of numbers about the sizes of our Hydra jobsets? Like, how big is the full closure for `release-18.09` after evaluation.

<thoughtpolice> gchristensen: Perhaps you might have some of that knowledge? I'm curious about the storage requirements for a mirror of some of those branches.
<samueldr> as of 27th january 2018, fpletz quoted it as "close to 80GB" thoughtpolice
<gchristensen> ack, I don't know, sorry. samueldr++
<samueldr> (and I saw that number quoted again lately)
<samueldr> (which is how I found that earlier quote)
<thoughtpolice> Interesting, though I wonder what jobset that's for (I might have missed it in the logs). Anyway, I've been working on a binary cache server part time and wanted a bigger closure to test out for downloads. :) I'm also thinking of hosting a mirror of the cache (since I think I've found a fairly sustainable method for it) and was wondering about the storage needs.
<gchristensen> the entire cache is about 120tb, with many years of history.
<thoughtpolice> Yeah, I was pretty sure the whole thing was infeasible. I was thinking more like a monthly rolling one for a few channels, which works out to be a bit nicer. The main cache is on S3 -- who covers that? Utrecht still? (I thought they did originally)
<gchristensen> https://nixos.org/nixos/community.html companies at the bottom of this page help :)
<samueldr> (though I conflated the earlier that day discussion where gchristensen linked to the same page!)

<timokau[m]1> We currently set the "staging cutoff" at 500+ right?
<FRidh> timokau[m]1: typically yes
<timokau[m]1> Alright, thanks
<vcunat> We're relatively strong on Linux rebuilds ATM, so it's mainly Darwin that slows down.
<FRidh> vcunat: I've been bad: I merged while darwin wasn't finished yet.
<FRidh> let's give it a week again to catch up
<vcunat> There's some reogranization in progress so that we should get more healthy Darwin builders over the long term.
