I also want unique external UIDs just in case, so I need a root helper which I integrate with the Lisp contraption that manages my system, but as long as you are OK with user-container with your external UID, nsjail provides a lot of tools

hmmm might just make my server follow the nixos-unstable channel (or at least, my fork that follows nixos-unstable and adds patches that i want)

kinda a pain wanting things from unstable and having to mudge them in with overlays

i figure i can revert commits that break things, so unstable isn't gonna break too much overall
