We are all students at some point.

But the thing is, iqubic has been like this ever since I've seen him in #nixos, he joined maybe 3-6 months ago but hasn't seemed to learn anything

I've seen folks go for years without learning technology, manners, logic, etc.

What have you tried to remedy this?

Telling him to read the manual, and mention how he asked the same thing recently

Maybe a direct conversation would work better. Explain epistemic helplessness. Explain how *you* would answer their question, how you'd use a search engine, or which spots in the documentation you would look at.
