The same patch can be applied to findutils, so that should fix it. But now I'm not sure if my earlier tries worked and I just didn't notice because the error message was the same.

Ugh, I'm not logged into GitHub on this machine and I'm to lazy to grab my security key + USB-C adapter. Guess the ticket will have to wait until tomorrow.

I am constantly, constantly chainsed by the need to build big things on aarch64 and x8664, and have everything end up on a remote server and I have various hacks I copy around, repo to repo, and I wish this was a better solved problem
<gchristensen>
I don't want them to be globally configured builders since I rarely need them and don't want to just have keys lying around (the ones used in that script are generated, temporary, and are valid for ~30min)

gchristensen: You know you can use qemu to build things locally as-if it was running on a different architecture ;)
<nbp>
gchristensen: and you know that Nix is also capable of delegating builds by default, based on available resources.
<nbp>
(which made me wonder why Nix has not yet replaced distcc yet …)

yes I do, but these are big things, not appropriate to build on my laptop -- and I don't want to have them globally configured in my machines file because I don't want to always have access to them (and indeed, don't always)
<gchristensen>
especially not appropriate to build them in qemu :P
<gchristensen>
and, I don't even want to copy the results back to my laptop, but to a third server
