<LnL>
might be a good idea to link that on the catalina issue as a final message

LnL I'm trying to run down whether there's anything automatic we can do here; in the process I also happened to stumble on some leads for other potential ways to handle the FV/T2 detection, might turn out to be simpler or faster or whatnot
<abathur>
so `sudo sysadminctl -filesystem status` in my case shows two lines, the last of which ends with either `Boot volume APFS FDE: YES` or `Boot volume APFS FDE: NO`
<LnL>
oh
<LnL>
nice
<abathur>
and then there's /usr/libexec/remotectl
<abathur>
which, try like
<abathur>
/usr/libexec/remotectl dumpstate
<abathur>
if you run it bare it'll list commands
<abathur>
remotectl list and dumpstate are empty on my pre-t2 system but list stuff on my current ones--though it doesn't return an error code if there isn't one
<abathur>
but it's possible some of the other subcommands there would, I haven't played with it too much
<abathur>
it was just on someone's list of macos commands you've probably never used while I was trying to learn about spctl
