[[Special:Log/move]] move * Samueldr * moved [[Configuration Collection/line]] to [[Template:Configuration Collection/line]]: Get this out of the main namespace, in the end.
<makefu>
samueldr: yes the table layout is a bit of a pain to work with.
<samueldr>
makefu: you mean the markup or you mean the appeareance of the page?
<makefu>
markup
<samueldr>
yeah, I still have to open the documentation page everytime I start messing with a table
<makefu>
:D
<samueldr>
that's why I used a template for that specific page, it was a test to see how bad it makes the markup look to litter it with templates instead of the table markup
<makefu>
i added the "extra editing tools" thingy in the user profile, this adds a table wizard but still it is not super straight forward
<samueldr>
once fadenb shares the configuration *nudge nudge*, I'll look into a local setup with semantic wiki
<samueldr>
see how good it handles
<makefu>
:D
<samueldr>
technically, it *should* allow stuff like adding markup on your own user profile, and then query the wiki
<samueldr>
so you'd add your nixpkgs config repo on your User: page
<samueldr>
and the configuration collection page *knows* it's there
<samueldr>
IF I understood how it works, and if it's *that* powerful
<samueldr>
the gentoo wiki uses it to document some things about packages on the packages page, and they can automatically extract that information in some pages when they refer to the package
<makefu>
see "creating self-hosted sessions"
<makefu>
the only problem is that you have th renew the cache every now and then to have an accurate overview page
<samueldr>
that's, imho, "not an issue", if it means that the wiki is easier to manage
<samueldr>
:)
<makefu>
yes i think so as well
<makefu>
but the 34c3 wiki was using this feature to plan sessions.... which was far from optimal
<makefu>
like, the worst thing you could imagine ....
<samueldr>
oh, I see
<makefu>
like time slots "looked" like they were free but in reality the cache was not up-to-date
<makefu>
which resulted in a lot of overlapping workshops and stuff
<samueldr>
yeah, that's definitely not good
<makefu>
for our use case it will be great i think
<samueldr>
that's a thing to know, do not use that feature to coordinate stuff, only to semantically describe stuff that's
