I'm thinking though that this wouldn't be a
*supported* device, unless support is added in nixpkgs, hmm
<
makefu>
samueldr: none of the arm devices are officially supported but people still want them :D
<
makefu>
maybe the name is wrong and it should be "devices where people have successfully installed nixos onto"
<
samueldr>
except the toshiba one, they are built by dezgeg
<
samueldr>
or that too
<
makefu>
the toshiba also uses sd-image-armv7l-linux.img
<
samueldr>
but the u-boot isn't from nixpkgs, and it's unknown if it is with extlinux.conf support
<
samueldr>
afaik, ALL devices will use either arvm6 or armv7 img, unless they have really unsupported hardware and need a custom kernel to boot
<
samueldr>
even boards that halfway work will usually boot, with missing features like no graphics output or no network
<
samueldr>
(from experience)
<
samueldr>
still, I looked at that laptop, I would love an updated revision
<
makefu>
maybe it would be enough to provide a default.nix for the uboot so you could buy it by hand but with nix support at least
<
samueldr>
it definitely would
<
samueldr>
right now, if I understood correctly, the added device uses a pre-built u-boot, from another source
<
samueldr>
nothing wrong with that, but much less supported than the other devices
