<superherointj> That is my guess.

<samueldr> and the brightness control?
<samueldr> trying to reduce the scope of what I need to check, whether it's the packacing of phosh, or a device-specific issue I'm having
<samueldr> it looks like that it responds to absolutely no shortcuts
<samueldr> going to settings → keyboards → customize shortcuts, I tried using those already defined and none are working
<samueldr> though the keyboard input source switching shortcut (super+space) works
<samueldr> I think I'll need to switch my testing to a faster device :/

<walkah> samueldr: I tried your method of copying the full dtsText for the rpi-poe into hardware.deviceTree.overlays... it doesn't seem to work, but I'm not sure how to tell (without plugging in a monitor) if it booted the right kernel and or how best to debug. dmesg has no rpi-poe reference and no relevant looking errors. thoughts?
<samueldr> walkah: edited the `compatible` string?

<LinuxHackerman> I mean, with unstable nix, who knows, anything could happen :p

<clever> this never happened when the remote builder was rpi-os or nixos
andi- has joined #nixos-aarch64
<LinuxHackerman> wiat so what is the builder?
<clever> the remote builder is a pi4, running a nixos image from feb
<LinuxHackerman> but then it is nixos..?

<clever> 21.03pre262561.581232454fd (Okapi)
<clever> yep
<LinuxHackerman> then I'm confused as to what you mean by >this never happened when the remote builder was rpi-os or nixos
<clever> previously, the pi4 was running raspi-os, with nix shoved into a systemd service
<clever> and it never had this fault
<clever> with the repeat in the same configuration
<LinuxHackerman> yes but "or nixos"?
<clever> i also have an x86 laptop running nixos

<clever> bcc?

<clever> ah
<LinuxHackerman> opensnoop and execsnoop are nice too
<LinuxHackerman> $yourLinuxPackages.bcc
<clever> yeah, those are neat on osx
<clever> didnt know they worked on linux
<LinuxHackerman> I think bcc is linux-specific?
<clever> opensnoop/execsnoop ive seen on darwin
<clever> not sure how the implementation differs
<clever> im trying with the sandbox off first
<clever> my guess, is that nix is just forgetting to copy things out of the sandbox
<LinuxHackerman> ooh, maybe `funcslower vfs_unlink -u 0`
<LinuxHackerman> yep that catches the unlink syscall performed by an `rm` invocation for me

<Venom668> Update: I've flashed tow-boot onto emmc, installed nixOS on the sd card, but the pbp is still not waking up from the suspend
<Venom668> I'm open to any suggestions
<Venom668> the only difference from "working" setup is not having tow-boot on SPI and os on the mmc (?)
<Venom668> or I am missing something
<samueldr> sorry, I really don't know :)
<samueldr> I ran Tow-Boot from SD
<samueldr> but the OS from eMMC
<samueldr> so I couldn't say
<samueldr> (Tow-Boot from SD because I rewrite it often)
<samueldr> (I would run from SPI otherwise)
<Venom668> I guess I'll try that, thanks
<Venom668> slowly running out of ideas :/
<samueldr> Venom668: try asking on the suspend issue thread, since the author of the patch maybe knows
<samueldr> at least may have clues about how you could check
<Venom668> yeah, he mentioned configuring a wakeup source in TF-A here: https://github.com/samueldr/wip-pinebook-pro/issues/3#issuecomment-638288213
<Venom668> but a few nixOS users have got it working, so I wanted to rule out that first
