<ixxie> yo
<ixxie> makefu are you around?
<makefu> yes :)
<makefu> according to http://techblog.holidaycheck.com/post/2017/10/31/nixcon2017 there is now #nixos-docs on freenode. so many channels to join
<ixxie> makefu: we should coordinate with the docs people
<makefu> yes true
<ixxie> I figure we should make a bit more of a detailed plan for the hackathon day so that it will run smoothly
<ixxie> in particular I intend to make sure all the skeleton articles have a section framework to make the intended structure of the articles visible
<makefu> yes, lets hack together an agenda
<makefu> ah of course
<ixxie> we already have one, but I guess we may need to add stuff / make it more readable
<makefu> but is this the agenda of the hackathon?
<ixxie> well shouldn't it be if our goal is to push for the official wiki launch?
<makefu> i mean some of the points may not be actionable
<ixxie> of course
<ixxie> hmmm
<ixxie> but samueldr already did most of that I thought
<samueldr> there's the checklist in my last comment still to do
<ixxie> and in anycase, the main focus should be on content
<makefu> yes, correct
<samueldr> the first point isn't actionable, as such
<ixxie> https://github.com/nixos-users/wiki/issues/12 is in particular what I had in mind
<samueldr> but once the contents of the wiki finalized, it will be reviewable
<makefu> ixxie: yes this is a good check-list
<ixxie> yeah we don't need everything on the project to be done
<ixxie> just the main bulk of it
<ixxie> then we can go for the RFC
<makefu> yes
<makefu> should we open a collaborative pad and write down the (actionable) tasks? think it will be easier than either using the wiki or the github issue tracker
<ixxie> makefu: yeah, and then I could add them to issue 12
<makefu> i've simply copy pasted your issue for the first shot :)
<hl> Anyone want to enable SVG support on the wiki?
<makefu> currently i didn't have this use case but why not
<ixxie> <3 SVG
<ixxie> and cool! That looks good
<samueldr> hl: svg is hard with mediawiki
<hl> I've set it up myself, not really hard.
<samueldr> well, as in, it's a headache that they really want to rasterize to png instead of serving svg
<samueldr> unless the documentation is lacking
<samueldr> (for my use) I found that if it was to be rasterized, I preferred doing it before uploading to ensure best results
<hl> The documentation says you can disable conversion using $wgSVGConverter = false;
<ixxie> yeah if it converts then whats the point?
<hl> Hmm? A PNG file isn't really accessible or scalable.
<samueldr> exactly
<samueldr> fun, the documentation page of *that variable* does not document using anything else than keys of $wgSVGConverters

<nixoswikibot> [[NixOS Installation Guide]] ! https://nixos.wiki/index.php?diff=1255&oldid=1066&rcid=1251 * Petersjt014 * (+112) added cloud provider
Reaktor|krebs0 has joined joined #nixos-wiki
<samueldr> hmmm
<samueldr> those instructions should (for those missing) be moved to the main cloud providers page, and a link to that page should replace that section
