<andi-> The moment you debug networkd for a good 10 minutes and wonder why it doesn't do what it should do to just figure out you forgot to add your latest patch..

<mdlayher> i'm hoping to do some networkd experiments today but am also trying to uphold the "home internet during a pandemic" SLA for other folks here lol
<cransom> ^ the curse.
<mdlayher> i guess worst case i bust out the serial cable and USB extension cables haha
<mdlayher> yeah for sure. i love having a lab VLAN where i can run experiments, but this requires a bit more effort
<andi-> Instead of using serial I just started using SSH via link-locak in cases where I killed the connection.. As long as you do not block port 22 or remove all ipv6 ll addresses that works well.

<mdlayher> oh that's a good point.
<andi-> that being said.. I migrated a machine from scripted networking to networkd and on the first networkd start all ipv6 ll's were purged..
<mdlayher> i am planning to use your configs as a reference, so hopefully i can learn from whatever you've come up with :)

<flokli> mdlayher: I wonder when we can disable ipv4 ;-)
<mdlayher> i think i am probably going to set up an IPv6 only VLAN with some kind of NAT64/DNS64 solution for fun.
<hexa-> except that is not fun
<hexa-> break on literal ipv4 addresses, dnssec and other scenarios
