pulse has a default sink but also automatically saves settings for application streams so when an application opens more streams or you relaunch that application it'll automatically route the same as before

when i receive an encrypted message it says my client doesn't have the keys for it, and gives an option to request keys from other devices (which does trigger a key request dialog on my phone, but does nothing after confirmation). i can restore keys from backup and it successfully decrypts messages but new messages afterward won't decrypt. i can send messages to an unencrypted chat, but if i try to an
