<Ashy> it's worth mentioning packet.net also does spot pricing that is much cheaper
<Ashy> I really like packet.net, it's amazing spinning up a dedi just like it's a vm
<Ashy> you can ssh in to the console and watch the provision and boot process
<Ashy> takes about 3 mins to provision a new machine
<Ashy> but yeah they aren't the cheapest if you just pay the retail rate
<Ashy> despite the above I'm not affiliated with them haha
<thefloweringash> If you want to rent a smaller arm, amazon has a range of virtual machine sizes.
<Ashy> yeah but packet is all dedicated machines, not vms

<Ashy> aws does dedis too but for a lot more money
<DigitalKiwi> what's spot pricing mean

<Ashy> basically auction pricing per hour
<Ashy> if someone outbids you your instance is immediately killed and goes to the higher bidder
<Ashy> in return the auction price is usually much lower than the on-demand price
<Ashy> good for worker instances that don't need to be 24x7
<sphalerite> Scaleway also has virtual ARM instances, and dedicated (kinda crappy though) 32-bit ARM machines

<Thra11> I've been following the instructions using holey here: https://nixos.wiki/wiki/NixOS_on_ARM/Allwinner_GPT_Installation. If I run `holey check` after dd-ing u-boot-sunxi-with-spl.bin into place, it says "ERROR: Media size (660672) is not a multiple of sector size(512) Holey GPT looks broken?" Is this to be expected?
<Thra11> 660672 might be the size of the u-boot binary (du -b reports it as 652480)
