<t184256> Is building Rust packages currently OK on aarch64? On my tablet the output lacks binaries, could somebody confirm it's working OK for them?
<t184256> I have noticed that hydra doesn't build, e.g., aarch64 ripgrep for release-19.03, why?
<sphalerite> t184256: usually it is built, idk why it isn't on the current 19.03

<t184256> Still can't get this working, could somebody please confirm/disprove that buildRustPackage outputs lack binaries?
<t184256> Example: `nix build nixpkgs.diskus -o diskus; find diskus/` run on a 'proper' aarch64 box would help me a lot
<tilpner> t184256: Proper, as opposed to cross compilation, or as opposed to qemu-user?
<t184256> 'Proper' as opposed to 'my Android tablet'
<tilpner> Oh hey, you're the madman with nix-on-droid
<tilpner> (Couldn't get DNS working properly from failsafe, but otherwise kind of worked)
<tilpner> I started qemu-user builds of both diskus and ripgrep
<tilpner> Might take a while
<t184256> Yeah, and I have no idea thir Rust issue is my interference or generic aarch64 problem

<t184256> I've tried some qemu-user magic and it output aarch64 binaries
<tilpner> So I can abort the builds?
<t184256> At least abort ripgrep, it's fatter
<t184256> I've also tried stepping through the build in nix-shell, but I got lost
<t184256> Are there any 'proper' aarch64 boxes with real nixos and no hacky magic whatsoever? Or VM images of those?
<tilpner> There's a community box you can request access to
<t184256> Cool!
<tilpner> ~ > file /nix/store/6yhcnilildvnnp7ffpm47bm7wackgph9-diskus-0.5.0/bin/diskus
<tilpner> /nix/store/6yhcnilildvnnp7ffpm47bm7wackgph9-diskus-0.5.0/bin/diskus: ELF 64-bit LSB pie executable, ARM aarch64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked, interpreter /nix/store/m6bmjrz6zqp95qaj2jimyqyq65azis8v-glibc-2.27/lib/ld-linux-aarch64.so.1, for GNU/Linux 2.6.32, not stripped

<sphalerite> t184256: you can rent similar machines from packet.net, where that machine is also hosted, by the hour. It's not cheap though.
<sphalerite> or was it by the minute?
<sphalerite> They have first-class nixos support though.
<t184256> Wow
<t184256> First-class NixOS support. On ARM.
