<samueldr>
annoying, I can't find good info about ARMv7-A's LPA, and what are its limitations; is it because of limitations in ARM that QEMU can't deal with 7GiB of RAM on armv7 or is it that one of [qemu, tianocore] can't deal with it (yet?)
<samueldr>
I should update qemu first

oh, this sounds like I signed up for lot's of pain if I want to get fdroidserver (which requires some parts of the android sdk) running on aarch64...
<samueldr>
possible, but I think if you disregard the eekiness of a binary bootstrap it may be easier
<samueldr>
hopefully :/
<bennofs[m]>
looks like guix actually has a full java bootstrap from C++
<andi->
Oh, how do they do that? Whats the initial Java they build? Gcj?
<andi->
I might give it another try once I am back from the Azores or at least not stuck in this airport :)
<gchristensen>
you're going to _leave_ the azores?
* samueldr
bets on sub-par internet
<gchristensen>
yeah but you've got the azores :P
<andi->
I am still omw there...
<gchristensen>
oh good
<samueldr>
damn, so a while before you look at java :^)
<andi->
Flight got canceled.. Replacement flight an hour earlier. Stuck 2h on the field before the deicing started.. Now I missed the connecting flight in lissbon.. Next one in 2h.. Already delayed..
<andi->
A day in planes. Great fun. Shit internet.. Running out of power sources
<bennofs[m]>
ah jamvm also doesn't support aarch64
<andi->
The idea I had as intermediate solution was using a tingt ecj variant as only binary input and use gcj to bootstrap an older JVM
<andi->
It turned out to be super recursive trying to create that ecj binary..
<andi->
And even then openjdk wouldn't properly compile on the platform.. Confusing 64bit architectures with x86-64
