<acowley> Oh, wow, I just saw a PR to expose libclang from the clang derivation. All that's required is replacing clang-unwrapped with clang.lib in the buildInputs?
<acowley> Oh, maybe not. Maybe I'm supposed to depend on llvmPackages.libclang. Huh, that seems a bit confusing.

<contrapumpkin> do we have any packages on darwin that intentionally use gcc because they don't build with clang?

<LnL> there are some, but those are usually very easy to fix
<LnL> most of the cases are accidental
<gchristensen> indeed :/
<periklis> question indeed how serious nix-code-base could be maintained by a single person
<LnL> :(

<gchristensen> periklis: as I commented on the github issue: I just want to note that I/we've been doing underlying organizational work in the background for several months on a few fronts. I think we'll be able to get to a better place here soon. It has taken quite some time because in a lot of ways, this sort of work is harder than code changes. I'm hopeful I'll have some good news soon.
<periklis> gchristensen: sure, good to hear that something happens in the backscene :)
<LnL> so, think I found an xcbuild bug
<gchristensen> periklis: yeah :) luckily this work has been underway for a while now
<LnL> copumpkin: around?

<contrapumpkin> LnL: hey :)
<LnL> think I already have a fix
<contrapumpkin> for what?
<LnL> xcbuild detected 85294 as the sdk version in /nix/store/yz966rdvw1blblvzs15pxpcd85294isw-MacOSX.platform
<LnL> causing a bunch of stuff to break on staging
<contrapumpkin> oh
<contrapumpkin> lots of stuff depends on xcbuild now?
{^_^} has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<LnL> hydra builds some of the things in pkgs.darwin now
<contrapumpkin> oh
{^_^} has joined #nix-darwin
<LnL> and pinentry_mac a dependency of gnupg
<LnL> do we have something like MACOSX_DEPLOYMENT_TARGET in nix?
<contrapumpkin> yeah, I think we set it in the stdenv prescirpt
<LnL> I mean as a nix variable
<contrapumpkin> oh
<contrapumpkin> don't think so
<LnL> I'll just leave that alone then
<contrapumpkin> you were thinking of injecting it into the plists for xcbuild?
<contrapumpkin> that seems fine to me fwiw
<contrapumpkin> the more DRY the happier
<gchristensen> guh I would _kill_ for a way for nixops to push a thing to a darwin systemt
<dhess> gchristensen: high five
<gchristensen> yeah? :)
<dhess> as in, solidarity, not as in, "oh I've got something for that" ;)
<gchristensen> oh yeah :D yeah
