hello, has anyone gotten pdftools to work with emacs via home-manager? i'm having some trouble getting the epdfinfo server built and running

i've put pdf-tools in programs.emacs.extraPackages (as a melpa package) but it fails to build epdfinfo

emacs-packages.nix in the nixpkgs source directory seems to build epdfinfo but i'm not sure how to invoke this (very new to nix...)

Is there a way to overlay the channel which home-manager builds from (i.e. where all the module expressions are)?

From what I understand, when you run home-manager switch it evaluates /root/.nix-defexpr/channels/home-manager - can I apply some patches to this, like I would do to a package with an overlay?

Nick Hu: You can use `nixpkgs.overlays` in your home manager file
