<gchristensen>
anyone know of a "Lazy drv" tool, which will build a drv after a nixos-rebuild switch, and in the meantime uses the previous generation's version?
<gchristensen>
concretely: I want to keep an up to date zoom around, and have it update regularly, but I don't want to blocknixos-rebuild switch on it
<immae>
gchristensen: would something like "cd /build/; nix-build -A zoom --out-link zoom" and then using /build/zoom in your configuration.nix work for instance?
<gchristensen>
yeah, that sort of thing!
<immae>
(I don’t know if there is such dedicated tool but that’s how I do this kind of thing myself)

I have my config split into many slices, and also for Chromium I look what is the latest at Hydra and download that
<MichaelRaskin>
Won't work with Zoom, obviously

asz//lig IIRC shared something either like that, or that was simply lazy on first use (which is not what you want) in the past
