flokli: 12:00 CET -- is that 1.75hrs ago, or 11.25hrs from now?
<flokli>
gchristensen: depends if you do the am/pm dance or not, I'd guess
<gchristensen>
lol
<samueldr>
written as such by a european
<samueldr>
so uh, inconclusive!

I'd guess they want to say noon

<gchristensen>

<gchristensen>
oh :)
<ldlework>
hehe
<ldlework>
i'd be willing to bet those with a functional bent would like go
<ldlework>
I watched a video about Quantum Chess yesterday. Pretty clever ruleset.

ldlework: Can't tell if you're saying Nix users would like golang and suddenly pivoted to chess, or if you were talking about the go game the whole time :P

Still 2h before the train departs.. Should probably get out of bed at some time :-)

Are there downsides to activating that option? I'm not sure if it's good to enable that for such a core dependency?

I sometimes have a weird feeling that this legacy URL syntax support might even be worth an RFC to deprecate…
<gchristensen>
+1
<gchristensen>
urls shouldn't be paths
<samueldr>
they aren't
<MichaelRaskin>
(yes, the only doubt/weird feeling is about «worth an RFC», of course)

<gchristensen>
well, whatever they are, they shouldn't be what they are
<samueldr>
:)
<MichaelRaskin>
URLs shouldn't be a separate syntax class competing with identity function for x:x

this argument alone imho does it
<aminechikhaoui>
colemickens I'm not sure what's the default behavior, but that option will only make the debug symbols in separate output/files afaik so it should be better (smaller binary size)
tertl3 has quit [Quit: Connection closed for inactivity]
<lopsided98>
colemickens: I don't think it makes the binary any smaller, it just takes the debug info that strip would normally throw away and puts it in a separate output
<lopsided98>
I kind of wish we could enable separateDebugInfo by default, since it makes debugging much more convenient
<lopsided98>
so IMO, the more packages with it enabled the better

<infinisil>
Youtube, you did it again, you made another change that obstructs the content
<infinisil>
Apparently when you pause a video now, it can display a half screen full of its video recommendations, over the video itself!
<infinisil>
I just wanted to pause the video to check out a frame, I don't want any recommendation goddamnit!
<ivan>
they've been doing that on embeds for about a year
<samueldr>
engagement! many users engaged with the addition
<samueldr>
willfully? don't know what that word means, sorry

<infinisil>
I haven't noticed this
<__monty__>
infinisil: I just use mpv's youtube-dl integration. No ads, no bullshit, just video.
<__monty__>
It doesn't work on *all* their videos but still a goodly amount.
<infinisil>
__monty__: Yeah, but I'm not gonna start mpv for every video I watch online, I watch a lot of em
<__monty__>
Me too. Don't get the big deal. Copying an url's not that much work.
<__monty__>
And if you use one of the vimish UI extensions you can probably map a trigger with hints.
