<sphalerite>
justanotheruser: basically mobile-nixos doesn't do that yet.
<sphalerite>
justanotheruser: you can set up regular desktop environments like on nixos, and generally do things you can do on regular nixos, but there's very little work being and been done on phone features. It's still all about getting it booting basically.

<colemickens>
ooh the two buttons under the pinebook trackpad is a disorienting feeling.
<colemickens>
I thought it was coming on Monday and I'd have all weekend to build a uboot and stuff. Exciting.
<samueldr>
colemickens: all week-end to build a u-boot?
<samueldr>
building on an atari 2600?
<colemickens>
haha, I'm being a bit stubborn about it. I wanted to grok enough to try to flake-ify wip-pinebook-pro and then add the nvme/spi patches if you haven't already (can't remember).
<colemickens>
I don't expect it to really take all weekend :)
<samueldr>
I don't think I have the NVME patches going yet
<samueldr>
though you should probably try the non-flake build of the "sd image spi installer" to check it works too :)
<samueldr>
though during this week I did confirm NVME working on another RK3399 platform (roc-rk3399-pc from libre.computer)
* colemickens
is not watching some repos he should be
<samueldr>
strangely enough they told me the kernel doesn't work with NVME, and sure it doesn't... if you try 5.6+ but the odd 5.5 I had still on it worked :|
<samueldr>
(on that specific board)
<colemickens>
ah interesting, thx for heads up
<samueldr>
you'll probably need some additional stuff
<samueldr>
I guess you would need to ensure that the .dts for the pbp has the required nodes, and add the stuff to its defconfig
<samueldr>
though the stuff to the defconfig I don't know which is _actually_ required...
<samueldr>
thefloweringash: I just opened your link... and am sad it's basically a shitpost :)
<samueldr>
I was hoping for some new neat device, not that old emulated ARMv5 thing :)
<thefloweringash>
I was inspired by the lengthy build time comments. It'd probably take more than a weekend to build uboot on it :-)
<samueldr>
yeah, I understood that

<samueldr>
aww, running my rk3399 build sbc with a fan to keep it at ~40°C instead of ~60°C during a kernel build basically does nothing to help with the length of the build
<samueldr>
I wonder if that'll change when I'll have figured out overclocking
