<Ke>

<Ke>

<samueldr>
sphalerite: yes, working on that problem
<samueldr>
Ke: the way secure boot works on the A64, your bootloader could be on the eMMC, though there is no "integrity chain", AFAIUI, so you need to, via software that is verified by the SoC, implement integrity checking on all the steps
<Ke>
samueldr: sd boot is secure, if you take the card out while the untrusted OS is running
<Ke>
it's like write protected rom
<samueldr>
yeah
<Ke>
you also need to be able to guarantee boot order and that the device actually rturns off
<samueldr>
but I wanted to point out that it's not like you're forced to do such a thing
h0m1 has quit [Quit: WeeChat 2.9]
<samueldr>
since the PMIC (?) is configurable, you can actually change things like the behaviour of holding the power button (up to someting like 45s where it's a PMIC reset IIRC)
<samueldr>
so even holding for 6 seconds (the default) to ensure off is not truly a guarantee
h0m1 has joined #nixos-aarch64
<Ke>
yup, anyway taking the card off has not been made easy
<samueldr>
yeah :/ the battery is *just* in the way enough
<samueldr>
if you have a pin or a pokey bit you can lift it (gently!) safely out
