<timokau[m]> samueldr: Why is that bad?
zupo has quit [Quit: My MacBook has gone to sleep. ZZZzzz…]
<samueldr> because if I understand their changes right, the u-boot will not boot an sd card or the built-in eMMC

<samrose> opinions sought: the rust overlay from mozilla is really meant to be used with nix-shell and not a good basis for rust in custom packages, is that right?
<gchristensen> correct
<samrose> whew thank you. I will stop banging my head against trying to use it for that purpose :-D
<samueldr> I'll eventually pick back up the refresh of the edk2 bits which will allow building the rpi 3 UEFI from nixpkgs :)
<samrose> cool!
<tilpner> samrose: It can be used to build packages too
<samrose> tilpner: are you aware of examples for building packages with mozilla rust overlay?
<tilpner> I have a few of them, maybe I can dig them up
<tilpner> Are you using carnix or buildRustPackage, samrose?
<samrose> tilpner: I had been using buildRustPackage up to this point. I planned on switching to carnix once I figured out how to use this rust overlay
<tilpner> Too late, I sent both
<samrose> tilpner: cool thank you

<samrose> tilpner: what is the `nur.repos.mozilla` part of your examples?
<tilpner> Just an alternative way of installing the mozilla overlay
<samrose> it's like a contrib repo I see
<samrose> (I just wasn't aware of that until I googled it and found a whole repo and irc channel for it)
