<samueldr> perfection is annoying >.<
<samueldr> there's a bit of graphics corruption with my current setup
<samueldr> which I think I tracked down
<samueldr> a bit of corruption at start*

<gchristensen> samueldr: what hw was that on?
<samueldr> asus zenfone 2 laser 1080p (z00t)
<samueldr> yes, 2, laser and 1080p defines a specific variant
<samueldr> (asus has a knack at releasing multiple derivation of each hardware generations)
<samueldr> it should be possible to port anything already supported by postmarketOS
<samueldr> though, my current effort would only support qualcomm-based hardware
<samueldr> (tonight I'm making a qemu target based off theirs)
<samueldr> I wouldn't be suprised if other qualcomm-based smartphones for which the kernel is available works
<gchristensen> nice
<samueldr> list of their devices: https://wiki.postmarketos.org/wiki/Devices
<samueldr> do note that the asus zenfone 5 listed there isn't the asus zenfone 5 that released last year
<samueldr> it's a phone that was released prior the the zenfone 2 series, where 5 is the size of the display
<gchristensen> so is it nixos + the postmarket kernel?
<samueldr> one kernel per device, which is the OEM-released kernel most likely
<samueldr> they do have developers porting their devices to mainline
<gchristensen> right but
<gchristensen> where does nixos end and postmarketos begin here?
<samueldr> it's a bit fuzzy, I'm using it as documented processes to make stuff work
<samueldr> but kernel and initrd are built using nix
<samueldr> so I'm porting the minimum viable initrd from postmarketOS
<samueldr> then, once the initrd boots, I hope as-stock-as-possible nixos will work
<samueldr> (that's where I'm at, the initrd)
