<zimbatm>
1h30 of talks - 15 min break - 1h30 of talks
<zimbatm>
in the morning it's a bit more relaxed: 1h of talks - 15 min break - 1h of talks
<zimbatm>
or I could add a second 1min break in the afternoon
<andi->
I think another break would be fine. I remember last year that during the afternoon a few people started to wander towards the coffee machine probably because concentration was fading
<samueldr>
zimbatm: didn't yet
<goibhniu>
zimbatm: ah, 30 mins includes questions and changing speakers ... is that a bit tight?
<goibhniu>
we could also skip having questions
<goibhniu>
a few mins between talks, to fiddle with mics and connecting laptops etc. are usually required
<goibhniu>
maybe 5 mins would be enough, to prevent talks running over ... so the speakers could have 25 mins, and questions, but only if we're not running late
<zimbatm>
yeah it's up to the speaker if he wants to handle the questions or not I guess
<zimbatm>
we can also use the breaks to test the laptops
<zimbatm>
I'll add another break so we only have to test 2 laptops at the same time
<goibhniu>
no women speaking this year either, how embarrassing :/
<zimbatm>
oh yeah :/
<zimbatm>
should we invite someone?
<goibhniu>
it would be awesome, Susan Potter would be great
<goibhniu>
ah, she's in the states, I thought she was based in England
<goibhniu>
(or Scotland?)
<zimbatm>
I hope the community is not toxic to women
<zimbatm>
it would be great to have her, do you know if she is aware of nixcon?
<zimbatm>
one of my colleague at Tweag just asked me today when the call for paper was going to happen
<zimbatm>
I assumed everybody knew about nixcon already!
<goibhniu>
I don't know her personally, I've just noticed she raves about Nix frequently online, no idea if she's aware of nixcon
<goibhniu>
I think there's a irish woman who was doing nix stuff, can't think of her nick though
<flokli>
grr, why are the lambdas in the nix logo slanted? seems impure too me… :-/
<flokli>
uploaded a new logo version at https://trello.com/c/TIXjBgMw/17-logo-design , which is even better printable, but the rooftop is a bit off the edge of the lambda, as the lambda itself is slanted
<flokli>
feedback much appreciated :-)
<samueldr>
flokli: I realized that too a small while back
<samueldr>
I was mildly miffed by that fact
<samueldr>
flokli: how should the bottom be cut?
<samueldr>
always flush with the bottom of the nixos flake?
<samueldr>
(just verifying this isn't an "artifact" from cropping the viewport)
<flokli>
erm, I think the logo is just based on something from the official artwork
<flokli>
I'd just print it as it is, possibly align big ben's rooftop and floor optically
<flokli>
in case people agree with the direction of course :-)
<samueldr>
I like it better than the "messy" one before
