Ok, so, running the installer. Want to customize environment.darwinConfig, so I'm saving the default configuration elsewhere. The installer doesn't seem to pick it up, how can I make it do so?
<__monty__>
Should I save under the default name and the installer will put it in the right place, erasing .nixpkgs/darwin-configuration.nix?
<__monty__>
LnL: Yeah, but the installer asks whether you want to change the default configuration.nix, can I change *that* attribute at that time? It looked like the installer didn't pick up any of my changes because I saved the file elsewhere.
<__monty__>
I interrupted it pretty quickly though.
<LnL>
no, just do an empty install first
<__monty__>
Ok, thanks.

What's the alternative to managing <darwin> with nix-channel?

<LnL>
some people use a local git clone or git submodules
<__monty__>
Ah, ok. Definitely want it managed by nix-channel then.

I'm getting a "warning: Nix search path entry '/nix/var/nix/profiles/per-user/root/channels' does not exist, ignoring" Does this mean my nix isn't set up right?
<__monty__>
Is there an alternative to creating /run?
<LnL>
that warning is normal for a single user install, that path is added unconditionally at the moment
