Using the mercurial module in HM, what would be the correct way to add mercurial extensions (e.g. python38Packages.hg-evolve)?

Just installing the mercurial and python38Packages.hg-evolve packages without using HM mercurial is able to see the extension.

But as soon as I enable mercurial using HM, mercurial isn't able to find the extension anymore.
