danielrf: what's missing in robotnix compared to anbox like functionality?
<Ke>
or like, if it supports running on vm, is the thing on anbox that it runs on a container?

sb0: that should work on any device that's sufficiently supported by the NixOS kernel and has EFI

Hi I'm trying to install nixos on my pi 4. The installer image works fine but when I switch to my configuration then when I boot up I get some weird raspberrypi-exp-gpio and raspberrypi-firmware errors, and then it gets to "mounting /dev/disk/by-label/NIXOS_SD on /mnt-root failed: No such file or directory" https://i.imgur.com/iYdqmJQ.png - anyone seen this before?

tried /dev/mmcblk0p2 in my config and that does the same thing
<figgyc>
so like the initrd can't see my sd card? or something like that
<figgyc>
ok i managed to fix it by removing cma=128M from my kernel params

Emil Karlson: Yes, anbox runs inside a linux container and can provide each app its own window. Robotnix currently only supports building a custom Android image that can be run through the android emulator
<danielrf[m]>
But there are a couple things I'd like to still try: 1) build Anbox images using robotnix. Anbox is quite old (Android 7.1 IIRC), but it could still be interesting
<Ke>
ack
<danielrf[m]>
2) There's work in upstream android on a "cuttlefish" virtual android device, which is basically a replacement emulator using modern virtualization technologies: crosvm+virtio stuff
<danielrf[m]>
I think it'd be the best way to run android apps on the linux desktop, and maybe could be coerced into doing the "each app gets its own window" thing
<samueldr>
LinuxHackerman: sd image doesn't need EFI, the board needs "its" u-boot
