<sphalerite> So I have this gru-bob chromebook, and I'd like to improve the firmware. Unfortunately it looks like I'll need to bisect nixpkgs for it. Not sure the flash will survive that many erase/write cycles, does anyone know of a way to do this sort of thing without reflashing every time? Or will I need to do some soldering?

<samueldr> the SPI flash? AFAIK some numbers you see are extremely low-ball figures, though I'm not positive
<samueldr> did you ask in #coreboot?
<hexa-> a2dp on the rpi4 is disappointing. 😒 Replaced with a USB Bt dongle and works lile a charm
<samueldr> hexa-: were you using wifi and bluetooth both at once?
<samueldr> (on the same chip)
<samueldr> AFAIK the chip's pretty bad at doing both (understabdably) on the pi
<hexa-> samueldr: nope, rfkilled wifi
<hexa-> and btattach'd with 3 mio baud
<hexa-> from trying both sbc (345 kbit/s) and aptx hd (575 kbit/s) it seems clearly related to the available bandwidth of the radio's uart connection
<samueldr> also plausible :)
<samueldr> I was going from information I heard
<hexa-> though 3 mio baud with 10 bit per symbol should be sufficient
<hexa-> or … well no.
<hexa-> that's roughly 293 kbit/s
<hexa-> and a clear explanation of why it's choppy
