and it's finally done, I can rest knowing I have wi-fi working on asus-z00t
<
samueldr>
and once cleaned, most devices of the same vintage will be handled the same way
<
leonardp>
nice job!
<
leonardp>
do you know anything about the xiaomi 5s? it is pretty well supported by lineageos i guess
<
samueldr>
leonardp: anything not on the devices list I likely not know much about
<
samueldr>
except maybe some odd-ball devices I researched for
<
samueldr>
though no, I know nothing about it
<
leonardp>
samueldr: but starting at LineageOS would be the sensible approach, no?
<
samueldr>
it definitely helps when it's well-supported by lineageos
<
samueldr>
that means it should be possible to find all details, and a well-maintained kernel source tree
<
samueldr>
though, if you hoped for guidance, sorry, it's late and I'm going away :)

"The time in EDT is currently 02:06:29 (UTC -4)"
<
leonardp>
alright then have a good nights sleep :)
<
leonardp>
thanks for your work!
<
samueldr>
another good starting point if it's your first non-android-on-android-device could be postmarketOS
<
leonardp>
i'll defenitly check that out
<
samueldr>
it's not done the same way as on Mobile NixOS, but their porting guide is actually written :)
<
samueldr>
the kernel configuration, at the very least, will work with Mobile NixOS, and it's like half the battle
<
samueldr>
and it helps cross-pollination
<
leonardp>
unfortunately i don't think i can invest too much time into my phone right now
<
leonardp>
although corona has been a blessing for personal projects right now :)
<
leonardp>
i am more into spreading nixos propaganda via raspberrypis right now...
