<Mic92_> gchristensen: maybe not so deterministic: while true; do date; sleep 60; done is running now for several hours
<Dezgeg> I think relying on unassisted tcp connections staying alive that long is a pipe dream anyway
<andi-> Mic92_: I have been connected for days no disconnec teven after being idle for a day
<andi-> Mic92_: probably a firewall in your network?
<Mic92_> andi-: maybe. Also no NAT is involved.
<andi-> has nothing to do with NAT.. usually such "enterprise" firewalls reduce the connection liveness to reduce the amount of memory required... those cheap celerons with 4GB of RAM must deal with entire Universities..
<Dezgeg> well, NAT is the thing that necessitates state keeping on the router/firewal
<Dezgeg> someone should make Nix (optionally) pipe its ssh connections through https://mistertea.github.io/EternalTerminal/
