<
Mic92>
which package contains script on macOS?
<
Mic92>
script as in /usr/bin/script
<
__monty__>
Can't you query nix-index?
<
__monty__>
,locate bin script
<
{^_^}>
Found in packages: busybox, libuuid.bin, utillinux.bin, unixtools.script, unixtools.utillinux
<
Mic92>
unixtools.script seems like the best choice
<
Mic92>
I did not now that ,locate also works for macOS
<
__monty__>
Hmm, it's possible nix-locate (or is it nix-index) only indexes the expressions available on linux, I'm not sure how it works.
<
Mic92>
Maybe it actually does.
<
Mic92>
but unixtools.script is the portable variant I was looking for

In theory at least, it should also be able to index darwin derivations, assuming the derivations are built by hydra
<
infinisil>
It would have to evaluate nixpkgs with `system = "x86_64-darwin"` for that
<
infinisil>
(you can get output paths of darwin derivations on Linux with that)
<
infinisil>
E.g. nix-instantiate --eval -A unixtools.script.outPath --argstr system x86_64-darwin
