Alright, I'm a fish user trying to set up nix-darwin. For some reason, I'm not getting nix-darwin's environment variables in my shell.

I have a /etc/fish/config.fish and a /etc/fish/nixos-env-preinit.fish. It looks like the latter would set up all the env variables properly, but AFIACT there's nothing that would cause that file to get sourced

aha, it works if I use nix's fish but not homebrew's fish
