Hello guys, I've got some issues with making home-manager work as I want it to - I've installed it as a NixOS module, but most recently I've found out that using `home-manager switch` can't be done with such installation. Tbh when I used hm switch my configuration didn't persist throughout reboots, which was frustrating :D What I'd like to achieve
<uznog>
is to build my whole system configuration (and home configuration as well) using one command - apparently `nixos-rebuild switch` - but using this command now does not build my home anymore... All of this is kinda messed up for me rn, and I'd appreciate any help with debugging what's acutally happening on my NixOS :X

Hmm, that's how it works for me. Make sure to read the manual as to whether you need to enable/disable programs.home-manager.enable.
<uznog>
Hmm, I don't quite understand what's the point of keeping home-manager installed (even via a program, home-manager installing home-manager? xD) when there's home-manager nixos module that should do the work as far as I understand :D

I'm just saying that option can spell trouble. The module works perfectly fine for me.

Before I post a bug report, I thought I'd ask here: has anyone seen this segmentation fault? `home-manager: line 127: 6062 Segmentation fault: 11 nix-build "<home-manager/home-manager/home-manager.nix>...` more here: https://pastebin.com/KjMc2i1q
<hexa->
check coredumpctl for a core dump
<johann9>
When trying to `home-manager switch` or `build`
<hexa->
abd get a backtrace using `coredumpctl debug` if possible
<hexa->
needs gdb in your env
<johann9>
ah, I'm on Mac and it seems like I don't have that command
<hexa->
ah yeah
<hexa->
coredumpctl is a systemd thinjg
<johann9>
It worked fine up until this morning... Perhaps I should try reinstalling home-manager again

hexa- I was able to get around it by `nix-channel --rollback` a few times
<johann9>
show-derivation only shows me the hash of home-manager, not the commit. Maybe the only way is to loop through versions and figure out which one matches the derivation hash?
<hexa->
i'm pinning home-manager using niv
<hexa->
but I'm also managing the user from my system config

Hey there. So, I made my own little Rust package and attempted to install it via home-manager. It did not go well. "error: stack overflow (possible infinite recursion)" is the only output I get from home-manager build. Specifying --show-trace gives me no additional output. Reverting to a previous generation does not fix it.
