I think if you were to set the `_module.args.darwinConfig` at the top level (outside the imports) then it would work

nicolas[m]: thanks for the suggestion, however, setting `_module.args.darwinConfig` outside the imports statement is still not working for me.

I also noticed the commit 733978 in home manager, where the system config is passed to hm modules, so I tried the same for the nix-darwin module, this is still not working for me though :S
