<jdnixx-M1> is there a `nixos-option` command equivalent for home-manager?
<cole-h> I don't know if there's anything that nice, but I have this written down in my notes:
<cole-h> nix-instantiate -E 'let hm = import <home-manager> { configuration = ~/.config/nixpkgs/home.nix; pkgs = import <nixpkgs> {}; }; in hm.config.home.packages'
<cole-h> You can also use the repl in a similar way:
<cole-h> nix repl <home-manager/nixos> --arg config 'import ~/.config/nixpkgs/home.nix { inherit (import <nixpkgs> {}) pkgs lib; }'
<cole-h> (I think that should work)
<jdnixx-M1> wait and then how do you use it
<jdnixx-M1> what's that do exactly
<jdnixx-M1> I just want to see what all the available `programs.*` and `services.*` are without scrolling through the entire list in the manual and all the suboptions for each one

<matthewcroughan[> Oh yeah, I wanted to figure out whether services were best placed in home-manager or not, based on some info in the repl.
<matthewcroughan[> You said in IRC:
<matthewcroughan[> > `nix repl '<nixpkgs>'` is my go-to to discover packages
<{^_^}> error: syntax error, unexpected $undefined, at (string):345:1
<matthewcroughan[> Yet what I wanted to do was query home-manager.
