greetings, i use home-manager on nixos and i've been trying to upgrade to 20.09

i set the channels accordingly but building home-manager fails

it fails with "element xref: validity error" when building the manual

You have both home-manager and NixOS set to 20.09 right?

i set both and ran nixos-rebuild switch --upgrade

just now i also ran nix-channel --update, i thought that --upgrade does it for me, and it seems to be working..

--upgrade only updates channels specially marked

switch grew an --upgrade-all option recently

Does `--upgrade-all` work with both user channels and root channels?

In addition to the nixos channel, the root user's channels which have a file named.update-on-nixos-rebuild in their base directory will also be updated.
