imho there will always be a place for a wiki, some things simply do not fit into official documentation ( like code snippets for specific hardware configuration and cookbooks )

what was lacking in the previous mediawiki iteration, AFAIUI, is moderation

we're not curating this iteration in its entirety, but many eyes look at the changes

previously it was essentially eelco who took care and at some point he just gave up (which is fine because imho he is the BDFL and should care about the future of nix and not be a maintainer of wiki instance)

when I asked the Arch wiki people how they did it, that was around the time where we had the discussion of shutting down the old wiki, the key thing was the bot
