<adisbladis> Small update on the future cache setup
<adisbladis> I've set up a hydra jobset on the nix-community build box https://hydra.nix-community.com/project/emacs-overlay
<adisbladis> We're still not pushing to any cache. We need to figure out a nice cache approach for _all_ builds happening on that box first
<adisbladis> I'm not sure whether we'll build all emacsPackages or not, but for sure we'll build emacsUnstable* and emacsGit*
<adisbladis> I am tempted to just uncomment these two lines https://github.com/nix-community/emacs-overlay/blob/master/hydra/release.nix#L13 and build away
<qy[m]1> :D
<qy[m]1> Awesome!

<adisbladis> Likely I'll spend some time tonight to set up the caching
<qy[m]1> 👌
<adisbladis> qy[m]1:
<adisbladis> And of course others! Which channels are you using? I'm considering only having a jobset for nixos-unstable. How many are actually using the overlay on a nixos stable branch?
<adisbladis> The emacs packages sets are pretty huge, so I want to avoid building for two channels if possible.
<qy[m]1> i tend to favour unstable and higher, but for emacs i use (emacsPackagesFor )emacsUnstable
<adisbladis> qy[m]1: My plan is to build for `emacs` and `emacsUnstable` but not for `emacsGit`
<adisbladis> The latter moves too fast
<qy[m]1> i imagine almost all people who even consider the overlay would not be using stable
<adisbladis> That's my hunch, too
<adisbladis> But I don't really have any idea :)
<qy[m]1> ah ok, yeah those two on emacsUnstable feel like they'd hit 90% of people's requirements to me
<adisbladis> Worst case we'll just start out with nixos-unstable
<adisbladis> It's not hard to add another jobset
<qy[m]1> yeah

<adisbladis> I'll send out a proper announcement on the discourse later
<adisbladis> https://app.cachix.org/cache/nix-community is now a thing we're pushing to
<adisbladis> There is some fixups needed on unstable before we can evaluate all the packages, but the emacs binaries live in different jobsets so at least we'll push those

<adisbladis> Just an FYI I've opted not to build melpa stable
<qy[m]1> ah, ok
<qy[m]1> (makes sense)
<adisbladis> <3 qy[m]1 (re meta fix)
<{^_^}> qy[m]1's karma got increased to 1
