looking at guix, perhaps due to it being strongly academia adjacent in its usage, it is possible to see that they've been working on things like reproducibility, bootstrapping and archiving, in a manner stronger than nix's community does, with that, it has grown a stronger presence when talking about these topics than nix

they're working towards a long term goal

with nix, it feels like it is aimlessly meandering without a drive towards accomplishing something long term

there isnt much to talk about besides the existing stuff

its almost always going to be related to something in nixpkgs, like more services or packages, but never some grander goal the community could be working towards

so, what does the project wants to be working towards in a few years that matters to people who aren't already invested in nix as a whole?

one of the thing the community disagrees, somewhat, with the approach the marketing team vision (mostly garbas' for this point) has been the focus on Nix the dev tool

there's also no real "the community" as an organized group
