as for G7, it lookw like upstream TWRP supports G7, G7 Plus, G7 Power; G7 Play is not (yet) supported, but from the xda-developers forums it looks like it should be at some point

looking at it all, the four G7 have basically the same platform, though one has an SDM636 instead of an SDM632 (the Plus has the 636)

so it's even possible they share most of everything

I think the only catch is to check whether (1) all us SKUs are unlockable or (2) telco-branded ones are unlockable

xiaomi is mostly sold online through resellers

they had, for real, a big problem with resellers unlocking bootloaders and installing modded miui versions with adware/spyware

it's a solution that works for that particular problem, but in the most extremely annoying way

it's not *only* the timer, it's also about being linked to your mi account

so they could realistically lower the timer

though knowing motorola, they *may* be shipping 32 bit userland on Android, they did for a bunch of devices

i already made aarch64 work on it, merged it, fixed x11 and made wifi work, not merged it

gchristensen: another detail, you may want to avoid the g7 play (generally) unless really cheap, it has only 2GB of RAM, compared to 4GB for the other G7s
