<zimbatm>
does anyone have electrical training? I am a bit concerned of the power draw of 60 laptops
<zimbatm>
I need to check with the place if they have power strips available
<andi->
oh, that reminds me I need to grab a bunch of adapters

zimbatm: nice!

zimbatm: In Germany there are usually 16 Ampere breakers. That would allow 3680W (230V). Usually you leave some buffer and not go over 2500W -> 41*60W laptop power bricks
<fadenb>
best to check before which power socket is connected to which breaker, do not forget lighting is often on the same circuit
<zimbatm>
yeah that's a good point
<zimbatm>
there are a bunch of power sockets around the room but no idea where they are connected to
<fadenb>
If you do not tris the buildings wiring you can add an additional breaker before you add power-strips that triggers at a lower rate
<fadenb>
s/tris/trust/
<zimbatm>
so I guess we need 60*60W + other types of chargers like phones
<fadenb>
The people from the venue should now (or let you take a look at the distribution panel to find out)
<zimbatm>
3600W minimum, so two 16 Amp breakers
<fadenb>
minimum ;)
<zimbatm>
yeah, I will ask them, thanks :)

If there is a coffee machine or electric boiler make sure they are on a separate circuit. They often use ~1000W
<zimbatm>
I think we'll have to disable coffee during the hackday :p
<LnL>
no coffee? isn't that the same as no hackathon :p
<andi->
we can surely swap between the states.. I guess most people have working notebook batteries? Once an hour we open a 15min time windows to make coffee?
