Oh. Hah, I was bootstrapping a new machine. Did so by installing nix, `nix copy`-ing the system after building it from my other mac, and running `activate` myself. Turns out not setting the /nix/var/nix/profiles/system profile breaks it.

Hmm, I'm seeing nix-darwin activating '~/Applications` as root, making `/var/root/Applications` and not one in my user directory. This isn't expected, right?

i'll ask again here in case the message got lost on #nixos. does anyone have any experience with running haskell gloss applications on macos via nix? for me, it just shows a black canvas. i'm currently trying to patch GLURaw and OpenGLRaw haskell packages to use the OpenGL framework. not sure whether it'll work or not. otherwise i'm out of ideas

okay, the issue seems to be with OpenGL framework not being present in the output of otool -L for the executable build via nix
