<duairc> matthewcroughan: If you're on NixOS unstable, what you can do instead is set firefox.package to `pkgs.wrapFirefox pkgs.firefox { nixExtensions = [ ... ] }`
<duairc> I find that works a lot more reliably
<duairc> *nixpkgs-unstable, it's not specific to NixOS

<kiboneu> hello. i am running release 20.09; i'm trying to make a symlink to a source outside of the nix store using config.lib.file.mkOutOfStoreSymlink. however when running nixos-rebuild, i run into an error "attribute 'file' missing". i found an irc log indicating someone else with the same issue, but it was suggested because they were running an earlier version of home-manager which did not have
<kiboneu> mkOutOfStoreSymlink implemented (this does not appear to be the case for me). I'm new to nixlang, so i'm likely missing something (maybe the function is out of scope or something)
<kiboneu> this is the header + entry in question: https://pastebin.com/raw/mMXm7zvQ
<kiboneu> i'm also using a flakes configuration from https://github.com/nrdxp/nixflk as a template

<jschievink> I'm seeing "The name ca.desrt.dconf was not provided by any .service files" when trying to set `gtk.theme.name`
<jschievink> does using the `gtk` options require running full GNOME?

<leex> Hi, any idea why I am getting "error: The option `programs.i3status-rust' defined in `/home/leex/.config/nixpkgs/home.nix' does not exist.
<leex> I am using home-manager https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/archive/release-20.09.tar.gz as my channel is that too old?

<leex> nf: thank you! I have so far always had my system on a stable .03/.09 channel and afaik you cannot use home-manager master with that right?
<nf> well, you can
<nf> just expect more things breaking, i guess?
<leex> hmm, just tried it and I get error: attribute 'anything' missing, at /home/leex/.nix-defexpr/channels/home-manager/modules/programs/neovim.nix:171:30 first hit when searching for the error is this thread https://github.com/nix-community/home-manager/issues/969#issuecomment-570139471
