<talyz> eyJhb: not sure why evil isn't loading for you, but if you want the nix magic to work, you need to use either use-package or leaf
<talyz> did you try the regular emacs build, btw?
<talyz> bqv: yeah, I've thought about it and attempted it, but it wasn't in a good enough state at that time
<talyz> bqv: it would probably work much better now, though :)

<eyJhb> talyz: When I use the overlay, shouldn't I still place the config file I give emacs-overlay, in a place where Emacs will see the config file?
<talyz> eyJhb: yes, you should still put the config in ~/.emacs
<adisbladis> I wanted to fix this, but can't be bothered
<eyJhb> But when I do that, it just seems like it is downloading evil from the repo :p But that might not be true.
<eyJhb> adisbladis: Get your ass up! You can't just look at pyramids all day :p
<adisbladis> eyJhb: Are you gonna stop me?
<talyz> eyJhb: it is - you have to use use-package for the magic to work :)
<eyJhb> adisbladis: I would, if I get another LEGO bonus! :p
<adisbladis> Because if not, I'm going to look at pyramids all day!
<eyJhb> talyz: Ahh fair.. I tried looking at your configs, but I had a hard time figuring out how it all worked.
<talyz> eyJhb: ah, yep, it's currently split between the emacs module and home.nix
<talyz> I should fix that
<eyJhb> There is a lot of should and wanted in this chat! :p :D
<talyz> the emacs way!
<bqv> I dunno, beyond the dumping thing, I'm happy with my emacs setup
<bqv> I was going to attempt it but got sidetracked by trying to deprecate github again
<adisbladis> eyJhb: I'm hoping for some people in the community to step up and do some things
<adisbladis> I don't want to push too much by myself
<bqv> I think at least emacs is a pretty successful subcommunity here
<adisbladis> I think so too :)
<adisbladis> I'm generally very happy with the state of things
