<nakkle> I wanted to add eterm-256color to the extraPackages in my home.nix, but apparently this package has been marked broken. Indeed when I try to install it anyways, it breaks during build with a "Wrong type argument: arrayp, nil". But manually installing it in emacs from melpa works, even though it's a package from 2019. Can anybody help me understand what's happening here and what I'd need to do to get this working within nix?

<aterius> antifuchs: I *finally* went ahead and made an issue about it
<{^_^}> #109997 (by mjlbach, 7 minutes ago, open): emacs 28: flicker present (extra redraws?) on darwin, not on homebrew
<aterius> I'm trying to read through the display code a bit now and see how to get profiling info out of emacs, jfc it's like 32k lines log
<antifuchs> hahaha, yeah it's massive
<antifuchs> and thanks for making the issue - following!
<antifuchs> aterius: oh, from your screen rec, it looks like there's excessive flickering
<antifuchs> I'm seeing buffers turn entirely blank, with maybe the current line being visible, until I scroll
<aterius> Yeah, it's really bad
<aterius> No issues with homebrew though, which is what confuses me
<antifuchs> curious if this is related to the macOS framework that we link against vs. what homebrew links against
<aterius> That's my only thought
<aterius> Updated the issue
<aterius> I need to make a better minimal emacs config to reproduce these things, as I've become mildly dependent on doom as of late
<aterius> I just hate messing with configs haha
