<samueldr> I'd like to have a chat with someone who can help (and help me help out) in getting some things done withe the organization's Hydra, not sure where to ask though
<samueldr> ideally, the first would be the implement the TAGS thing proposed by gchristensen to help out with the bigger jobs that end up sapping the life out of some build servers... thinking about e.g. firefox on aarch64
<samueldr> though I know that such a thing would need development time so that's more of a long-term goal
<samueldr> in the interim, figuring out a strategy so that those builds end up succeeding more regularly
<samueldr> and another point, completely separate, to look into adding a cross-compilation jobset to track the minimal install image and maybe some more important packages (might need to also talk with other cross-interested people)

<elvishjerricco> How would I go about writing a NixOS test for a ZFS backup service module? The problem I'm having is that the service starts at boot, but I can't figure out a way to prepare a disk image with a ZFS pool before the machine starts. runInLinuxVM seems too inflexible.
<Mic92> elvishjerricco: maybe do a reboot in the test?
<Mic92> and create the zfs dataset before that
<Mic92> Or some hacky way that creates the dataset from initrd
<elvishjerricco> I suppose it can be created in early boot, yea. It just seems wrong to have a service start that's likely to fail and just ignore it :P
<elvishjerricco> So early boot would fix that

<worldofpeace> I hope I'm not being unreasonable in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/96413#issuecomment-681173319, but all of those issues seemed really unhelpful to me and cluttered the tracker
<worldofpeace> like I think it's incredibly rude to basically complain in public to someone's issue tracker, of all things on documentation, where most of the issues are about quantitative phrasing?
<samueldr> yeah, opening the issues I don't see anything actionable
