<qyliss>
Profpatsch: do you know why console.earlySetup is disabled by default?
<qyliss>
(Looks like you had something to do with it when it was added as earlyVconsoleSetup in 2016)
<Mic92>
qyliss: smaller initrd maybe?
<Profpatsch>
qyliss: 2016 oO
<Mic92>
To properly work on hidpi screens it also needs the correct graphics driver in initrd.
<qyliss>
Maybe! It doesn't seem to make much of a difference to size here, and it just seems a shame that HiDPI is broken while entering disk decryption passwords.
<qyliss>
I guess if you didn't have the right graphics driver loaded, you'd end up with a really massive font?
<Mic92>
qyliss: the nixos-generate config now enables a hidpi module that does enable console.earlySetup
<Mic92>
will be in 20.09
<qyliss>
oh, cool
<qyliss>
I guess that's fine then
<Mic92>
I would also do x11 stuff but honestly don't know what the right way is.
<Mic92>
All these environment variables work in some setups but in other don't
<infinisil>
zimbatm: Did you already create a jitsi (or so) link?
<zimbatm>
infinisil: I sent a calendar invite with google meet to your email
<infinisil>
zimbatm: Oh I didn't get anything, probably because I'm using google@infinisil.com for my google account
<infinisil>
I think I've had this before, google seems to void invites if there's no google account for a mail
<zimbatm>
infinisil: added that address
<infinisil>
Got it now, thanks :)
<zimbatm>
or use meet.google.com/gur-jcsi-xzm
<zimbatm>
:)

niksnut: is there a way yet to actually see the cached failures?
<manveru>
i was under the impression that `nix log` should show it... but seems that's not working
<manveru>
so atm i just nuke ~/.cache/nix/eval-cache-v2 but there ought to be a nicer way :)
<Mic92>
manveru: there is a bugfix in master for that
<Mic92>
to bust the cache in case of an failure
<manveru>
ah, i see

thanks :)

niksnut: did you got the email about the hardware RFC for tomorrow/
<Mic92>
?
<samueldr>
Mic92: just saying, your initial message has this in the header on gmail: "Why is this message in Spam? It's similar to messages that were detected by our Spam filters" (while not actually being in the spam folder :/)
<Mic92>
samueldr: they penalize emails that are not sent by big email providers.
<samueldr>
yeah, I know, I was just saying in case you were wondering :)
<samueldr>
but the "fun fact" is that it's not in spam
<samueldr>
it might have gone to spam for other recipients though
<Mic92>
I sent edolstra messages before that went through, so hopefully...
<infinisil>
I also have problem with my mail server and google recipients :/

yeah, and google's "show original" shows a pass for everything

<samueldr>
I have a possibly bug-bountiable issue I've been having for years with gmail, if anyone trustable will go through in verifying it is reproducible and submit it I can share
<samueldr>
it's about receiving other people's mail
