<emily>
does anyone have a pointer to the nixpkgs-channels repo being deprecated in favour of the branches on nixpkgs proper? I think the repo description or something used to say something but now it doesn't...
<emily>
(maybe that decision was undone...?)

worldofpeace I am not sure about the requires, though

that is more of a C thing

Jan Tojnar: what could be better, I guess not do it all is the alternative, or make it not fatal with a degraded runtime

I'm confused, it seems like I can close this PR: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/86649 without being a nixpkgs comitter. Is this a wanted behaviour? Is this related to the recent nixpkgs-maintainers ACL change? Being granted the "close PR" right without the "merge PR" one seems a bit odd to me :/
<cole-h>
NinjaTrappeur: All maintainers now have triage permissions, which means you can label, request reviewers, close issues/PRs, and similar functionality.
<cole-h>
So yes, this is both related to the ACL change and wanted behaviour (only by virtue of it being impossible to be more granular with GitHub's current implementation)

NinjaTrappeur: it's less risky to close a PR as obsolete as triage than it is to be able to deploy code to nixpkgs
<emily>
it can always just be reopened, after all
