<adisbladis>
If I dont hear anyone complaining I'll send it to discourse tomorrow
<adisbladis>
Or maybe tonight if I'm too eager :)
<gchristensen>
yay
<gchristensen>
way to go!
<samueldr>
adisbladis: strategy to make the top left lambda not disappear in the top background?
<adisbladis>
samueldr: We can adjust the colour. I thought it looked pretty cool though :D
<samueldr>
and uh... the aspect ratio the image is wrong?
<gchristensen>

<adisbladis>
samueldr: Fixed
<samueldr>
nice
<samueldr>
adisbladis++
<{^_^}>
adisbladis's karma got increased to 9
<adisbladis>
samueldr: Gimp didn't know the aspect ratio of the vector :(
<samueldr>
ah
<samueldr>
I generally prefer to export from inkscape as inkscape has some features that (AFAIK) are not in the SVG spec
<samueldr>
(well, when they were authored in inkscape)
<samueldr>
and then, inkscape knows about aspect ratio

(requeued, now twice, after that initial requeue, Too many heap sections: Increase MAXHINCR or MAX_HEAP_SECTS)
<gchristensen>
after this aarch64 hw is burned in a bit, I can stop the queue runner and start the evaluator with mega ram
<samueldr>
I have an experiment going off and on to better understand conditions to hit the issue
<samueldr>
been running it with aarch64 as supportedSystem too
<gchristensen>
oh cool
<samueldr>
it looks like that with initial and max at 24GiB it passes (kinda defeats the purpose though)
<gchristensen>
we could move the evaluator to one of these 384G ram machines and not worry about it again for a few more months
<clever>
gchristensen: that reminds me, something ive been thinking about, is to make the evaluator into a normal nix build
<clever>
gchristensen: then it can be farmed out to a build slave
<gchristensen>
ohh
<clever>
but that will break all impure things like builtins.fetchgit and builtins.fetchTarball
<clever>
even if you did allow it at eval time, the eval is happening in a nix sandbox
<gchristensen>
interesting
<clever>
also, it needs to generate drv files from within a nix sandbox...
<clever>
(and copy those back to the central box)
<clever>
so we really need recursive nix....

adisbladis, would it be possible to allow people to make their CfP submission visible to others immediately and maybe allow for people to talk to the author beforehand?
<pie_>
on a slightly related note, would there be any point to maybe starting a "topics i would like to hear about" thread if someone wants to pick something to choose from there? or does that generally not make sense
<pie_>
(maybe this is the wrong channel for this but eh.. :D)
<gchristensen>
that sounds cool
<pie_>
hmm...looks like discourse polls wouldnt be suitable
<pie_>
i figured i could edit a poll to add new voting entries as people add suggestions but discourse doesnt seems to let you use it that way
